Using two known good Samsung 950 Pros (it's on the QVL), have tried them in each of the three M.2 slots. The BIOS always shows N/A for each slot. I read somewhere that GB MBs have a quirk where RAID mode has to be enabled in order to see M.2 drives. Just for laughs I did that and found that the RAID configuration recognized the drives, so that's perplexing. BIOS version is F4. Didn't want to upgrade that unless I had a specific reason.

Disable CSM module.
Make a bootable UEFI Windows 10 installation media on USB Flash Drive with
Rufus
You will need the latest Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft.
The M.2 drive must be only storage drive connected.
Insert the Flash drive with the UEFI installation media and reboot.
There is no need to be searching the BIOS for the M.2 drive.

I'm using it as an ESXi box. Prior to upgrading the BIOS, the ESXi loader wouldn't recognize the drive. After upgrading to F11 it worked fine. Seems like a bug to go to the trouble in the UI to indicate which slots are occupied, and have it not work, but I'm happy as long as it works. Thanks!
