Hi guys ,
Recently I purchased a set of pc 373D headset

https://en-us.sennheiser.com/gaming-headset-pc-373d

My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 6 Motherboard

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-Gaming-6-rev-10#ov

I have bought a sennheiser UNP PC cable connector which enables me to connect the headset directly to the line out jack. The sound is reasonable however I would like it to be a bit louder . After consulting to the motherboard manual I discovered some switches to Audio Gain Switch . If I turn these on will it boost the sound of this headset ? Is it what the switches are used for ? Is it safe to try ?

Ty

Solution
That is exactly what they are for. Try 2.5x first to see if that is enough for your headphones, then 6x if that is not loud enough.

Exclusive onboard 'Gain Boost' selector switches
+ Select either standard 2.5x or high-amplification 6x mode.
+ 6x mode is ideal for high impedance speakers and headphones

I’m actually ok now thank you for your reply . I have soundblaster installed and with a bit of tweaking the sound is more then what I want in quality and level. Ty so much for your reply
