with Gigabyte B460 HD3 (rev. 1.0) we ve got big big issues to boot :

linux does not boot at all

i guess that i need to turn off all uefi things
i guess that i have to choose legacy support whereever i can

Which Linux distribution? Have you tried several ?

hi there - i have t ried opensuse
but i have issue with the bios.

i think i have to

disable uefi
and secure boot

so far so good - but i do not come along with the settings -

all i can - all that is possible is to boot with a desaster recovery-stick that i have created.

note: a opensuse leap image 15.2 boots - if i start the machine and have connected the stick

No experience with Opensuse, but 2 weeks ago we installed Ubuntu on a full uefi machine, GPT partioned 2 Tb SSD without any problem. All default options in Bios.
I would do a clear CMOS to begin with, or go in Bios and load tbe optimized defaults and save
