Hi,

I will be upgrading my graphics card from GTX 1060 Mini 6 GB to RTX 2070 Super Mini 8 GB and my current PSU is Corsair VS650 W which I am using with my GTX 1060 for 2 years. I know that this PSU is weak and can destroy my new graphics card. Is the Gigabyte B700H (700W 80+ Bronze) will suffice for RTX 2070 Super, also when overclocked ?

CPU :- Intel core i5 8400
GPU : ZOTAC RTX 2070S Mini 8 GB
HDD : WD 1TB 5400 RPM
Optical Drive : LG DVD R/W
RAM : (Corsair Vengeance DDR4 8 GB Sticks) x 2 = 16 GB
Monitor : LG IPS LED 27 inches
Mouse : Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury
Keyboard : Gigabyte Red Cherry Mechanical Keyboard
Speaker : Just a basic Logitech USB Stereo Speaker
Headset : USB 7.1 Surround Headset
Computer is on 24/7

Then another upgrade I would suggest for your system is getting an SSD especially since you only have a 5400 rpm drive and not a 7200 rpm drive or at the very least getting a cheap 7200rpm drive like this Seagate barracuda drive.

Here are some suggestions for PSUs if you are actually going to upgrade.

More expensive but super efficient- Corsair HX750i or Corsair RM750x

Same wattage as your current but much better efficiency- EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G3

Most expensive and completely overkill- EVGA Supernova 850 P2

Cheaper (under $100) but less efficient- Corsair CX750M

Cheapest and only 700w (like you wanted)- Thermaltake SPD-0700NP

Honestly the 650w PSU that you have now should be plenty for your system. The only reason you might want to upgrade the psu is if you get a higher performance cpu (like the i7 9700k) as well as another graphics card such as a full size 2080 super.

I am only using a 450w psu and I am running an overclocked i7 6700k and a gtx 1080ti with power to spare on extra hard drives and full led lighting so I honestly believe that your 650w power supply is plenty enough and upgrading to a 700w power supply isn’t much of a change. Just trying to save you money. But if you were going to go for a psu upgrade I would go for something like 800w or a little higher for future proofing. Then since you said your computer is running 24/7 I would suggest getting a psu that is either gold or platinum efficiency so you can save power and create less heat in your system.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I will be switching over to SSD within few months but for now I would be upgrading my graphics card. If my Corsair VS650 80+ White Certified PSU can perform well with RTX 2070 Super, I wont be changing my PSU.
