Hi,

I purchased two Corsair Cm2x2048-6400c5 v6.1 2GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM modules for my GA-G41M-ES2H v1.0
motherboard to upgrade the RAM from 2GB to 4GB. However, it only recognize as a single channel but not dual channels. As a result, I still have only 2GB total.

I also tried using two G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ DDR2 1GB PC2-6400 CL5-5-5-15 1.8v that I pull from my other desktop computer. Still it only recognize as a single channel.

Reading from the manual, there is no settings to change in BIOS. It's automatic.

Any help really appreciated.

Try putting only 1 stick in at a time. It is possible that one of your RAM slots is dead. If one of the slots is dead you will have to buy a single 4GB DIMM since the motherboard supports up to 4GB per slot.

Thanks for suggestions. I didn't think of that since I didn't get any beeps.

I just tested with the following combinations. I will name the 2GB sticks as 2GB Stick 1 and 2GB Stick 2.

Default 1: Installed two 2GB sticks no beeps but only recognize as one module.

Attempt 1: 2GB Stick 1 in slot 1 and slot 2 is not use. Works fine.

Attempt 2: 2GB Stick 2 in slot 1 and slot 2 is not use. Works fine.

Attempt 3: slot 1 is not use and 2GB Stick 1 in slot 2. Works fine.

Attempt 4: slot 1 is not use and 2GB Stick 2 in slot 2. Works fine.

However this time when I put back two sticks, I get 7 beeps and wouldn't post unless I remove one of the stick from the either slot 1 or slot 2. Sometimes I get 3 beeps and stop then 7 beeps. I didn't get this beeps before.

Attempt 5: 2GB Stick 1 slot 1 is not use and 2GB Stick 2 in slot 2. Beeps 7 times and won't post.

Attempt 5: 2GB Stick 2 slot 1 is not use and 2GB Stick 1 in slot 2. Beeps 7 times and won't post.

I only use this computer less than a year and put in the closet until now. Not much dust and I repaste the CPU.
