I've had this board (Gigabyte GA-965G-DS3) running a 7950GT for over a year now. I just upgraded to a 9800GTX and I am trying to decide if I need to get a newer board.
Gigabyte doesn't even say its PCIe is x16. (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2361)
But Intel says G965 is x16. (http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/g965/index.htm)
So how can I be sure the board is not x8? Is there any Vista64 software that confirms the PCIe clock? Even if the board is x16 is it worth upgrading the board for a PCIe 2.0 board? Possibly the 750i chipset ( ASUS P5N-D)?
Thanks for the help.
