Helo eveyrone. I just recieved my package with components I bought. I've read that this motherboard - Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H requests BIOS version F6 to support Athlon X4 860k. Is is any way to find the bios version without powering the motherboard and installing CPU?

It's said it's revision 3001 12me-f288m3h-3001R. I don't have another CPU ton install in it to update the bios. Maybe soem way to know bios by serial number?

Solution
If this is a new motherboard bought from a retailer, it should have BIOS F8 in it. I see motherboard reviews from June 2014 that show the F6c BIOS already installed.

Even if it is a used motherboard, install the CPU like you normally would, and go into the BIOS and check the version. There was only ever 1 BIOS released for that board that did not have the F6 or newer BIOS in it. But even if you have that, the CPU should work well enough to at least see what version BIOS is in it. The pin-outs of that CPU are the same as all of the other CPUs that fit that socket. Its just microcode that is different.

I bought it from a pretty big europe retailer 3 days ago - here . I found that's this is REV 3.0 on the box.
As I understood, even if my bios isn't F6 I could install x4 860k CPU without any worries and it would enter BIOS to check which version it is and/or flash a new bios with a prepared flash drive with Q-FLASH?
