Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G - Long, Single Beep followed by Shutdown

Hey everyone,

I have been using this computer at work for about 2 years and haven't had any problems until about 2 months ago. I went to turn the computer on and I got a long, single beep (maybe 2.5-3 seconds) that is abruptly cut off and then everything powers down. When I had this problem the first time, I deduced it to the PSU and a single stick of RAM being bad. I swapped both of those parts out and the computer was running fine for about 3 weeks until today when I tried to turn on the PC and it would do the same thing.

I have tested this new PSU on a different machine and it powers it up fine, and I have tried installing a new stick of RAM but I keep getting the same problem. It also still does the single long beep regardless of what I plug in/don't have plugged in. Any advice to get me up and running would be greatly appreciated.

P.S: I don't know any of the specs on this computer besides the motherboard being a Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G.

According the manual, long beep error related to the RAM, so either the RAM or MB has problem, because you did try to boot the PC without the RAM too, so I think the MB has problem. Try clear the CMOS, then boot again, if you still have the same problem, you will need the new MB.
