Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK fan control

Hi All,

I have some PWM case fans connected to this motherboard and it works great with the controlling them.

I wanted to change the fans due to the noise and have some quite 3 pin fans, will the motherboard be able to control these 3 pin fans or would I need a fan controller?

Hi,
I couldn't find an option in BIOS to switch to voltage control, so I guess that 3 pin fans would work at full speed (no control).

Can you please update us on this issue ? I am in a similar situation: from the manual (of any Gigabyte H97/Z97 boards) it seems that the 4-pin system fan headers have a slightly different pinout than the CPU fan header, it suggests that the mobo is _perhaps_ capable to dc-speed control also the 3-pin system fans. Not quite clear though.

it is the GA-H97-D3H, but I think there is no difference in this aspect between any of this generation
