Which one is better assuming each is the same price?

Will be running them in SLI.

Get the MSI GTX 970 because it has the fan-stop technology, it is quieter and cooler.

Dude the Gigabyte also has the fan stop tech... It does`nt stop all the fans but it does! The windforce 3 is one of the best coolers around. I`m not saying the MSI is bad but the gigabyte`s should run cooler...

I've heard about sagging with the Gigabyte because it's so big and heavy. Would that be a problem with SLI? I wouldn't be going for the g1 edition with a backplate because it's like $30-40 more per GPU.

They are pretty heavy but no that should not be a big concern, just make sure you tighten the screw heads that holds it on the back plate of the chassis...

So you think the Gigabyte non gaming edition can beat out the MSI gaming in overclock? I do happen to like the style/cooler and color of the Gigabyte more than the MSI. But I'm mainly going for best performance.

Dude the 2 cards your looking at is very much the same... Now if it was the G1 Gaming vs the 100 Mil edition then I would say go G1... So if you like the MSI by all means get it.
