Hello guys, after an intensive google session I've come to hit a wall as I was ready to build my first PC.
So I was going for a budget build and bought an i3 4170 paired with a Gigabyte h81m-h, PCPartPicker didn't show any incompatibilities, neither did intel's site for mobo support.
Then I start reading on BIOS and mobo versions and learn that mine is a rev 2.1, as I check the compatibility list for this specific version I see that my i3 4170 Haswell Refresh is nowhere to be found among the supported CPUs, nevertheless I check out the rev 1.0 compatibilities and there it is, 4170 supported. How come an older revision supports this processor and the newer one doesn't? Is this going to be a problem? Should I contact Gigabyte before attempting any returns?
rev 1.0 CPU support list
rev 2.1 CPU support list
Thank you for your help!
