new board for me, have F7 BIOS do I need to upgrade? It's rock solid now
running Advanced Server 2000. What is the latest BIOS (d/l ed F10 but not
installed) and what advantages to upgrading ... my theory is "If it ain't
broke, don't fix it"...

thanx in advance

Absolutely correct! I downloaded the F9 for this board, flashed it and
it was dead. Now they don't offer the F9 any more for download. Great
job to me :-(. So my advice: If you don't need it, let it be.

You do mean the GA-7N400L?

Muahaha! Do you know what great feature the 7N400L has? An empty space
where the other boards of this series have the second BIOS chip. You're
screwed with this board when flashing fails. And as an additional
feature the one and only chip which is left is soldered directly onto
the board. No socket or whatsoever. I needed to let unsolder and fix it
with a socket back onto the board.

I love this thing. I would have paid the 1 or 2 additional Euros for the
second chip, that would have definetely paid off for me. But Gigabyte
decided differently.

Thanks for the info... I Assumed that it had a dual bios... hmmm I believe
you might do what is called a blind boot and flash... never had to do it
though.

Would have liked to... but it was absolutely dead, no life signs
available, no blind boot.
