Im running this motherboard with a AMD 3000 64bit processor, 2x512
corsair DDR platinum RAM with a 380w power supply.

My problem is the first time my pc boots I get the short beep to say
the system has booted successfully but then I get a long beep until
the windows screen appears. After the first time it boots I dont get
this beep again until my pc has been off for a period of time.

It states in the manual that it's an DRAM error, I've checked the
motherboard is all connecter up properly to all it's respected
components, how do I eliminate this long beep.

can anyone please help?

thx for the reply

they are indeed both enabled, is there any way of getting the fan to
start up automatically when the computer boots to avoid this very
annoying noise?

If the PC has already booted then this isn't an error code beep - those
happen before the VGA starts.

Have you got the CPU fan fail alarm turned on? Do you have smartfan control
turned on? If yes and yes then it's a logic bug in the BIOS - it's letting
you know that your CPU fan isn't working, because it's stopped it as the CPU
temp is less than 20 degrees. When booting go to the heath monitor screen
and watch the cpu temp climb to 20 deg, the alarm will then stop.

Yes, turn smartfan off. Personally I've turned the alarm off instead as the
CPU has overheat alarm anyway and I'd rather have a quieter fan.

thx a lot for your help

I turned smartfan off last night, no problems

the smartfan must be set to not come on until 20deg, would be better
if it started up below 20.

meh...I'm happy

thx RM again!
