Hi, i just installed a used "Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti - Gaming OC PRO 8 GB (NON LHR) " that i bought online for about 2500SEK (about 228,47USD). The guy i bought it from said he bought it used himself for only 1800SEK (about 164,39USD) due to it being faulty: black screens and the fans revving up to the max. He said he fixed the problems though by applying new thermal paste and flashing the BIOS. I've only tried the GPU for a couple of hours but my impression is that the fans get quite loud and the GPU itself runs hot. I've taken two screens of HWiNFO64, the first showing the the temps inhttps://imageupload idle and the second one the temps when i've played for about 5mins (The game is "Amid Evil": 1080P, every setting on Ultra, DLSS: Quality, Raytracing: On). I was just wondering if anyone who've got more experience with the RTX 360 Ti lineup of GPUs can have a look and see if there is any reason to be concerned or if i'm just worrying about nothing. I've got a well ventilated "Corsair 4000D Airflow" (that i spent alot of time managing the cables so they are pretty much invisible) so i'm assuming that's not the problem.

Thanks in advance / Izak

Have you tried using MsI Afterburner to use the fan control to see if it works for your card.? If it does you could make your own fan curve to alleviate the loud fans and cvool the idle temps down some.. The idle temps are a bit high because the fans are not spinning, but the under-load temps are fine. I would check the gpu temps after about 10-15 minutes of game play to get a better idea of your gpu temps.

Thanks for you quick reply, i appreciate it alot. So would you say the idle temps are unusually high or still within a "safe range"?

The temperature is fine. What concerns me is the load at idle, 70w is a lot so it must be doing something in the background. Maybe keeping a screen recording buffer?
I've got the "Adjust image settings with preview" (the one with the spinning Nvidia logo) set to Performance aswell as "Power management mode" set to prefer Maximum performance and "Texture filtering - Quality" set to High performance (all in the Nvidia control panel) if that can be what is causing it?

No, It should still be lower because there is no power draw at idle. The pevious owners may have changed the bios on your card. If you run GPUZ it will tell the gpu info along with bios version and other performance info. Maybe you can track down the cause.

He defintely have, he said he flashed the BIOS for it to work (remedy the black screens and the fans revving up to the max). Below is a screenshot of GPU-Z i just took if you want to have a look at it and maybe help me on the way to figure this out.
