Question Gigabyte UD 650M D3HP AX motherboard wont flash bios

Im trying to flash this motherboard so i can install a Ryzen 8600G. I cant build it yet as it will only recognize the cpu once the bios is updated.
I have reviewed how to do it with a usb flash drive and inserted into the correct port above the usb c but it just will not work. I have tried 4 different drives all of them usb2 phat 32, the drives light up but do not flash and no flickering led on the motherboard when i press the button.
Im not sure whats going on here, ive renamed the bios file gigabye.bin but no dice, any advice would be appreciated thanks.

but you're probably using the wrong USB port;

page 15, the USB port above the PS/2 port labelled with a c. Try that and you should be able to make progress.

Its the port above the usbC port but having no luck, ive even tried the other 4 ports but nothing, ive tried 6 different usb2 phat32 drives and its not doing anything, they all light up but they dont flash. I dont think theres much point building it up and doing it thru the flash utility and im beginning to think something else could be the problem. Would clearing the cmos help ?
