Gigabyte x370 gaming k7 , code 02

I have a gigabyte x370 gaming k7 motherboard with 2x4GB DDR4 ram 2400mhz Patriot viper (PVE48G240C5KRD), a Radeon 6950 HD video card (I know it's old but getting replace) and a Ryzen 1600 CPU. I am receiving a 02 code on the board and I am getting a no post. I am wondering if the ram is incompatible with Ryzen. I tried one stick at a time in different slots. Anybody have any more ideas?

I'd first try one RAM stick in required slot (try 4rth slot from left and 2nd slot from left, then both) and with no GPU at all, just to see if it will give an error code for 'no display adapter found'...if so, try the other RAM stick...., and then only the both RAM modules and GPU installed, all drives left disconnected...

Double check CPU fan is connected to CPU FAN header, and that CPW PWR is connected to mainboard (8 pin ATX_12V in upper left corner of MB)

I did one ram on the slot closest to the cpu and get code 01 now.
