I'm building my new pc from scratch.

Here's other components;
Cpu: Intel i5 6600K + Noctua NH-L9i
Ram: G.Skill RipjawsV 16GB 2400MHz CL15
Gpu: Zotac GTX 1070 Amp! Extreme
Ssd: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
Hdd: WD Blue 1TB
Case: Zalman Z11 Neo / 700W

Zotac GTX 1070 Amp! Extreme is extremely huge. It's nearly 33 cm and truly heavy. There are people were suggesting the gpu causes some sagging/tilting. And it can be troubling in the long run from what I've seen.
I guess Asus Pro Gaming is the superior mobo but Gaming 3 comes with stainless shield. Would it be helpful?

I want to know which mobo is better suited for this configuration. I'm not a hardcore overclocker but I intend to do when it's necessary. Also I care much about sound performance.

Which mobo should I get?

Thanks.
BTW, if there was an informative thread about this one, you can direct me to it. That'd be appreciated as well.

I have wondered the same and even post about it in several forums. Here has been asked a lot and pretty much everyone says the Asus Pro Gaming is better. I love that mobo because has a lot of usb ports, it seems it has good materials and has more phases (or whatever is called) than the gaming 3...

Sadly, is also quite expensive, at least in my country, and several people told me that its worth it. My other option is the asus z170a, but for a couple of euros i prefer the pro gaming.

I have wondered if that steel on the PCIe slot its really that helpful... but nobody talks about that on the different sites I saw. Reviews are good, its just... at least here, asus pro gaming its the most selled in every store, lot of people has a lot of love for that mobo, i guess its a safe option.

At this point, I saw pictures of the asus with 1060 and 1070, seems to be better prepared for overclock and its bigger. Gigabyte gaming 3 woudl be my choice over the msi gaming 3 and if my budget wouldn't allow me to get the asus. I know I making a nice investment on the mobo, but I'm thinking that is a long term part.

the steel reinforcement is meaningless :)
slots are designed to withstand at least X force. cards are designed not to apply this X force on the slot.
So when you talking about high quality MB from Asus, you can be sure that nothing will happen.
Also, serious part of the card weight is on the case through the bracket.

Thanks for answers.

I live in Turkey and almost all of electronic retailers are toxic. Especially with customer services and RMA. There are only few that are good. Price list from those retailers looks like this;
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming; 660 bucks
Asus Z170-A; 610 bucks
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3; 585 bucks

With Gaming 3, the whole system is exactly as much as I can afford. Meaning I'd be going over my budget if I opt for Asus mobo, but it's not like that I certainly can't do that. Does Asus Z170 Pro Gaming worth 75 bucks more? Also, what do you say about Z170-A against Gaming 3?

if you are talking about this Z170-A https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-A/
it's excellent.
I hope that prices you posted are for the system, not just for board.
Otherwise, order from amazon.de or something :)

amazon.de has better shipping price for turkey than for the rest of europe (excluding austria) 😛 so it would worth a shot. If gigabyte gaming 3 its expensive try to get the HD3P. Its not that bad, its cheaper and has plento of connections.

Nope. Entire system will cost 5000 or 5100 bucks depending on my mobo choice.
Here are the overall costs; that system with Gaming 3; 5030 bucks // with Z170-A; 5055 bucks // with Z170 Pro Gaming; 5105 bucks
I wouldn't mind the price difference between Gaming 3 and Z170-A. And from what I understood, Z170-A is clearly the superior mobo between the two?
Also, I guess I can go with Pro Gaming if you suggest me to do it. Because even though I like Gigabyte as a brand, I also happen to be a music guy(that can't afford an external sound card currently) and Pro Gaming's multimedia capabilities highly praised in reviews.

It all depends you. Which one do you recommend while knowing the prices?

Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de don't deliver mobos and cpus to Turkey. Even if I use Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de to buy other components, I'll save 150-200 bucks. And if there'll be an issue that needs to be dealt with warranty, I'll need to make an international shipment. So, those saved 150 bucks will be nothing. Surely that 150 bucks can help me but I don't want to take any chances about warranty when I'm spending huge amount of money.

I don't know. Sadly for me, I haven't tried anyone of those. I'm trying to build something too, around an I5 6600k and I just want to make a light OC so... Anyone of those would do the job. Asus z170a and pro gaming maybe better than the gaming 3 but those prices are just insane... Here are between 140 and 159 euros.... And thats a BIG medium budget.

Check the hd3p from gigabyte, maybe has the same phases than the gaming 3 but its cheaper. I also read some reviews and asked around here and reddit

totaly agree. I own z170-a. The bracket does not touch my evga gtx 970. The case suport big procentage of gtx's weight.
