I have checked my manufacturers QVL and https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232737&ignorebbr=1 is not on it. But i did have https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231938 on my board at one time and it ran fine till i pushed the memory to much and burnt one of the modules. My question is even though the 3600 MHz memory is not on the QVL but other Gskill modules is will i run into any compatibility issues as long as i do not push the timings to the 3600 MHz mark which i am well aware that my build is not capable of but hoping that this memory will work so i can use the 3600 MHz memory on my next build.

Solution
The maximum supported ram speed for your motherboard is 3466.
The QVL list may not be current.
Go to the g.skil(or any other maker) and access their ram selection app.
Enter the make/model of your motherboard and you will get a list of supported ram kits.

That's about as bargain basement as 3600 gets. Good 3600 would be cas 15 or 16 and would have a much better chance of running at its rated speed.

It's possible Z170 will let you run at 3600 but it will depend on the board and the RAM kit. It's pushing the limit.
