Recently had a very weird issue with my system.
My motherboard Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 wont start.
Upon powering it on, the power button on the board does light up but nothing starts after pressing it.

Here is what I tried so far,
1. Replace the CMOS battery and reset it by pressing the button on the board. No luck.
2. Replace PSU with another one. No luck.
3. Removed all components on the board except board, cpu and ram stick. No luck.
4. Removed the 8 pin CPU power cable. the boards starts and fan spins.

Can you guys help me out what could've gone wrong with this?

How old is the PSU in your build?

Replace PSU with another one. No luck.
Make, model and age of the donor PSU to rule out your PSU as a possible culprit?

Your motherboard has Dual BIOS support, and you have a surface mounted BIOS selector switch;
