Looks like this article needs some updating, was very surprised to see the affordable motherboard recommended here for 224$, well over the 160$ on the article.
Ended up buying the Asrock Z390 Extreme 4 which actually is the most I wanted to pay (160$) and actually was even a better buy, more features, better VRM which means more capable of the higher performance CPUs and overclocks pretty well.

The article doesn't need updating: Gigabyte pulled the board from the US market and the prices you see are holdouts with leftover stock trying to rip you off.

Elsewhere in the world, the price probably didn't change.
