Question Musical PSUs (j/k, multiple builds, need advice) ?

So, @triplex1 and one or two others have chimed in on another thread regarding a GPU upgrade arising from donating my RTX3060ti to a gaming build for a friend's kid. Now I have PSU questions.

A total of three machines involved.

Corsair RM850x - 5900X, currently Asus KO RTX3060ti, soon to be RX 6900 XT or RX 7900 XT (hopefully)
Corsair CX650F - 3600X, to receive the RTX3060ti
i7-6700 / Tuf Gaming GTX1650S (currently no PSU)

My Corsair RM1000x arrived yesterday, which is going in my 5900X.

Since the 3600X build is for my friend's kid and the CX650F (80 Bronze) has RGB, I considered just completing the build with it. However, PCPP indicates a total 454W draw. Since I've read 1.5X that (681 in this case) should be allowed for spikes, I'm concerned it may not hold up. I know that setup should be able to handle 4K at medium detail on HDMI (it's done it before without issue), but this time it will likely be run at 1440p with high detail on a 144 hz DP monitor.

Should that be the case, it's not a problem to put my original RM850x in the 3600X, and the CX650F in the i7-6700/GTX1650S, since the latter doesn't require much power at all.

But is all that really necessary? TIA.

Just like you said, use the Corsair CX650F as a lab power supply and for some tests, don't even think about putting it back into the system.

Actually, the case with the 3600X already has the 80 Bronze CX650F in it, which is why I'm wondering whether I should upgrade it to the 80 Gold RM850x for the RTX3060ti and move the CX650F to the lower-power i7-6700/GTX1650S rig. The 3600X was originally built on a B450 board in this case with the GTX1650S, but is now on a Tuf B550-Plus, soon to have the Asus KO RTX3060ti-8GB-OC.

How old is the CX650F, though?

As for your last liner, yes you should be good to hand down the PSU's...to the builds lower down. That would be my logical upgrades for the partial builds listed in your OP.
The CX650F was purchased new Aug '22, with very little use. Originally planned to flip the system but never got any serious offers on it. Since then, there's been a bit of parts-swapping for troubleshooting other rigs. But I would say this one has probably less than 50-100 hours on it.

The RM850x was purchased new Mar '22, and has a ton of hours on it as the 5900X has pretty much run 24/7, rarely being shut down. No issues though. Also the RM850x is 80 Gold and the CX650F is 80 Bronze, so I'm wondering if just based on that difference alone the Bronze should be paired with the low-power i7-6700 / GTX1650S, rather than trust a pricey RTX3060ti card to it.

And it sounds like you think it would be better all around to put the RM850x in the 3600X and the CX650F in the i7-6700. More work I was hoping not to have to do, but I'd rather do it right than do it twice.
