Hello all!

Full system info below.

I bought the components in Late 2022 but didn't end up finally building it until June of 2023. (I know, ridiculous)

When I built it, it had issues with crashing fairly quickly after booting up if it was being used. Eventually I found online that the Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Ultra Motherboard has issues with running the PCI slots at Gen4 speeds.

I changed both the lane and CPU speeds to Gen3 for the slots and it was able to stay on a lot longer, but I've found that after playing for a while, it will still crash.

The crashes have been the same both times. I hear a windows error sound and the displays all turn black. Nothing responds, and I ultimate have to do a hard reboot by holding the power button.

I have validated that my BIOS has the lanes set to Gen3, and have updated the firmware for the motherboard. I also have everything else (firmware, drivers, software, etc) up to date.

What can I do at this point? Any fixes? Or do I need to try to do an RMA? Am I too late to RMA at this point?

Thanks in advance!

For the sake of relevance, please state the BIOS version for your motherboard.

I would've contacted your seller, within your warranty period, then seen if you could swap the motherboard for another brand/make/model motherboard.

Is your motherboard yet under warranty? If so, contact your seller as well as Gigabyte.
