So I am trying to update my BIOS to F16 currently at F15 for the software version
I am using the Q Flash feature of the BIOS and trying to load from a USB 3.0 Flash Drive
First time i went in i decided i should make a back up first.
During the process it said not to turn of my pc then when it complete and the not to turn of my pc warning was gone my pc froze.
I restarted manually and loaded windows without and issue. I looked at my Flash Drive and the Back Up File was there.
So I put the back up on a separate storage device. Formatted the flash drive and then extracted the 7zip file from Gigabyte's website directly onto the flash drive.
I then removed the flash drive. restarted the computer and entered the bios again by pressing F12 then going to the setup from the boot options.
once in the bios I plugged the flash drive back in and went to Q Flash. Selected the option to update. Chose my Flash Drive from the Options. It read the drive asked me to select a file. I selected the z77xd3h.f16 file. It read it identified it as the new version then asked if i wanted to update.
At that point before i could select yes or no to update the BIOS Froze again. I restarted my computer and booted into windows fine and I am now posting this from the same computer.
Any idea what the problem is and how i can work around it.
