Hey guys, so I built my first PC yesterday and unfortunately It won't turn on. When I hit the power button, the ceiling lights in my room dim for half a second and thats it. Nothing else. I assume maybe theres some PSU or Motherboard issue, hoping its nothing major. I ended up finding out in my Motherboard's instruction booklet that Gigabyte recommends at least a 500w PSU in regard to its 12v cpu 8-pin socket thats plugged by the PSU, or else the "system may be unstable or not even boot up at all". My PSU happens to be a Corsair CX 430w Modular. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z87-D3HP lga 1150. Do you guys think this is the reason my build won't boot? I really need help with this. I plan to get a better psu later today to see whats up but what do you guys think? Heres the rest of my build below:

NZXT Source 410 Elite Black CASE
Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4gb RAM
intel i5 4570 lga 1150 CPU + Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus cpu cooler
Seagate 3.5inch 1TB Hybrid HDD

It's not that wattage that is really important, its the current (amps) rating for the CPU power connection. It is possible that your 430W PSU does not have the required capability. The motherboard speaker is used to identify what the booting issue is, without it on an onboard led readout, you have no way of knowing for certain exactly what the issue might be. BUT, since you said your room light dims, are you sure that your motherboard (or anything else) is shorted to the case somehow? You did install all the motherboard stand-offs correctly? And all other wiring is correct?

Yeah I know, It IS more than enough but I guess my motherboard doesn't like anything below 430w. I don't have one of those speakers, I know what you mean. I actually read a post on here last night with a guy having a similar problem. His system had issues booting up with a 430w as well, even though he had more than enough wattage. Someone told him that 430w isn't enough for the 12v cpu socket or something alone those lines. It was similar to what my motherboard's instruction booklet said but I just want to make sure the problem isn't a dead motherboard. As a precaution, some Motherboards prevent PSU's from booting up if theres an issue right? I think thats whats happening. But I want to be sure.

Everything seemed to be wired correctly. I'm still a bit confused about the fan wiring. The fan plugs that go into the motherboard had room for 3 pins although the motherboard had 4 pins available per fan socket. It looked like 3 pins was fine. It fits fine as well. Another uncertainty I had, was involving the molex connectors. I plugged all my fans into the molex 4-pins but there were some empty molex left hanging from the fans I believe. I didn't have anywhere to plug them into. Other than that, I made sure my wiring was good. I used all of the stand offs in my motherboard correctly. Everything seems to be in order. I only had slight confusion involving the molex ones. The fans split up into 3 plugs, the motherboard plug and the negative and positive molex I guess. I believe I had one of them left hanging on each fan because I didn't know where else to plug them. Is that fine? And yes they talked about the *AMPS in the other post I mentioned earlier. It might just be that.
