tomshardware hi.....

as i recently noted... i built a mostrous new pc.. but the thing is that: i have gigabyte z87x-oc with dualBios utility... and I7-4790K,when i bought the mobo it wasn't compatible with the proccessor
becuse of the BIOS version (my local pc shop fixed that...)

now the problem is that:my backup bios(B_BIOS) is still in the old version(F6) and if,by accident i will flick the switch to load the second BIOS i will brick my pc(and then will have to take it to the pc shop again)

so... is there anyway to upgrade the backup bios to f8(copy from main bios,q-flash,anything???)
and if there is.. can you show me how???

i have read the mobo manual, and searched the internet... pretty much nothing

best regards

Flash from usb. Also should be a switch to dual boot the bios and another switch to pick primary bios. If you boot to bios that's current with dual boot on, it will automatically update the other. Know this from experience as I've had to do it a few times myself. Once you know what your doing, it's really hard to brick a Gigabyte board.

As long as you first boot into whichever bios has the current revision. If that's primary, then yes, boot into primary. If you are truly nervous about it I'd recommend booting into an incorrect primary bios with a flash drive loaded and q flash with current bios.
