Hello, my college gives us free windows 10 keys among other things, and a friend of mine needs one. I don't know if they can somehow control cases of sharing or selling those free products. Should I give him a key or there will be complications?
Typically, with Education versions of a Windows license, they are only for your use while you're at college and have a .edu e-mail address. The license is supposed to expire when you leave college.
In short, no. You cannot give your friend a free Windows license.
that's probably a volume licence key they give you for the years or years you're in college. if your friend has a copy of windows 7 or 8 and has a valid key then they don't need a copy from you
I'm assuming you are able to get this through DreamSpark, who is contracted to be the educational distributor, in which your school has a contract with for your price of FREE. (It's a legit way to get YOUR personal copy while at a participating school/university.
The licensing doesn't allow for transfer to another individual although I have yet to see an expiration date on or associated with the keys beyond EULA wording.
I would recommend not giving it away or selling it for legal reasons (especially if you have already used it.)
It is indeed through Dreamspark, and the license does not end with my graduation. theoretically I will just see the key on my screen, tell him, and then he will activate his windows 10. I know it's against the rules but I can't imagine how someone can prove I'm not the one using the key. Thoughts?

And how many individual DreamSpark licenses do you get?

Windows 10 is available for free download and installation directly from Microsoft and can be used without a key. Without a validated key, some features will be limited or disabled, but most normal functions will be available.
