GlQuake

I know this is slightly off topic but the quake ng seems to have died a
death.
Got a bit bored the other night playing BF1942 so I reinstalled Quake,
and Team Fortress, everything is ok (thought took me a while to remember
all the console commands!) but I cant run Glquake, can only do it in
software mode.
The error message is "cant find glide2x.dll". Now if memory serves me
right you need a Voodoo card for that, but I've got a Geforce 4. Does
anyone have any solution or a patch to enable me to play in 3dfx?
And I have tried dling the glide2x and bunging it in my System32 folder,
but that doesn't work.

No need for a patch, it is rather something you got to remove. In your Quake
directory is supposedly a file called opengl32.dll.
If there is one, remove it. This is a mini-gl driver for 3DFX cards and will
look out for a glide - environment instead of the OpenGL.

GLQuake itself uses standard OpenGL. It will work properly when you remove
this driver.

Thanks very much it works fine now. Playing in software mode was driving
me insane!

On another note, Glquake words fine now both off and online, but in the
default 640x480. I've altered the bat file command line for glquake so
it works fine offline, and then told gamespy that the command line is
glquake.bat, but it is still 640x480 when I play TF etc. Anyone have any
ideas on how to get it upto 1024x768x32 online? Is it something to do
with quakeworld?

Add -width 1024 -height 768 to the command line.
