charging some of the developers 1cent would have been a 100% increase in what they were paying.
those who got their games cut had been using the service for free for months and in some cases years.
they refused to pay, any amount. glu asked them to bring their accounts current and to start supporting their games. this was done several months ago and these devs knew what would happen. this was not without warning to the devs. the devs did not warn their game players. shame on them.
 
Microsoft product users - lesson 15,678 on the drawbacks of vendor lock-in. Had they coded to an open standard, they'd be able to switch hosting/servers without a problem.
 
Some guy is working on a replacement to gamespy's middleware.

With a little patch, he has been able to bring back Halo Trial. Apparently it is also capable of supporting CE & FV too... rumour has it that it will be able to support any arbitrary amount of legacy game titles depending on user demand
