Question GMail Profile Picture

Why is GMail telling me "Add a picture to help people recognize you" when I already have a profile picture? Have I been hacked or is it something else?

To check if your account had unauthorized access, head to:

https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup

To check if your profile picture is still there, you can also check:

https://myaccount.google.com/personal-info

Although I am not having the same problem with my account, but if I had, my first thought would have been a bug more than a hack.

Key words: "Add a picture to help people recognize you".

Your current profile picture may help friends and family recognize you, Fair enough.

However, if the profile picture is not a photograph that GMail can recognize as a face recognition person then that may have triggered the message.

Otherwise, as above, could simply be some bug.

Check your account and if all is well then just ignore the "prompting".

Unless of course you do want your recognizable face to appear.....
