Question GMKtec K8 Plus - Bios flickering

Hi all,

I recently purchased a GMKtec K8 Plus and bought a bare bones unit. I installed the ram and M2 drive and proceeded to boot into Bios.

The initial GMKtec logo was flickering between colours. Bios was even worse, flickering and changing colours. I initially thought it was a dodgy HDMI lead or worse still a hardware issue.

I proceeded to install Windows 11 and installed the AMD drivers. Now Windows is fine and it works perfectly.

But the issue remains for the initial logo at bootup and Bios. It is obviously a driver issue, I would have thought Bios would be fine on a well known CPU with integrated graphics.

Any ideas how to fix this issue, I am trying to avoid doing a Bios flash as read reports of some people bricking their units.

Note I did a clean install rather than use GMKTec's download. There are a few files / batch files in there and I don't really know what I'm looking for.

Anyone have any experience of this? Thanks in advance.

you're only experiencing some odd color variations, but no actual problems with boot or utilizing the BIOS?

if so, I would imagine it is an embedded flaw that would only be fixed, if at all, through future BIOS updates.

Hi, thanks for replying, yes there are no actual problems, just the screen flickering issue. sometimes it hard to make out certain things but I can find my way around.
