Is it illegal if I download the CSS texture for GMOD instead of buying the game?

You can use it u wont get baned its just the texture for gmod its not stealing css.

Actually, downloading the CSS (or any similar) textures is not legal. You are downloading files from a game without purchasing it, similar to the way pirating or emulating a game works. You didnt buy it but you are using portions of its data reserved for those who have purchased the game.

While nothing will likely come of it, it is not legal.
