Hello, I have a very loud roaring noise coming from my computer. After
testing all the fans, it appears that the noise is coming from the one
with Gigabyte 8x AGP on it. When I did a startup without it plugged
up, it was super quiet. I plugged it back in and it sounds like a
truck again. Can this fan be replaced? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Do you mean the GA 7N400 Pro2? I have this board in ver. 2. Can't find a GN
board on their website. Anyway mine doesn't have this fan. There is a
connector for it but no fan just a large heat sink with 8X AGP sticker on
it.

This fan is known to be a very poor performer. You can probably get a week
or 2 of quiet by oiling it, but it will eventually fail. You can replace it
with an aftermarket chip fan. This fan cools the nvidia nforce 2 chip - not
wise to run without it.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I thought it was a fan but
it doesn't seem to be.
