for new new build i've had my eye on a Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128713)
it seems really cheap and almost perfect for my gaming needs (i also plan on running a mild overclock on either a 4790 or 4690) i just wanted to know more about it, like is the power delivery good enough to hold a stable overclock. Has there been any bad reviews? Could you recommend a better motherboard to the same price.

*Note: I'm in Australia so availablity might be an issue 😛
Thanks in advance for any help

I currently use that board in my current office client builds, about 53 so far, and no one has complained to me about there being anything wrong with that board. I used the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128716 in the workstation build for one of the offices and I slightly overclocked it to 4.4 with an aftermarket cooler. So either of them will be just fine, they both have good power delivery as most gigabyte boards do. I would go with the updated version that newegg lists if you want to game. The board isn't a typical atx design, it is a bit slimmer than a typical board. but the micro atx board is a typical micro atx size.
Don't see any reviews so I don't know.

The two cpus you mentioned are locked cpus, meaning that you CANNOT overclock them one bit (ok technically you can, but only 0.05 ghz at best).

haswell cpus have fully locked multipliers now, unlike sandy bridge and ivy bridge where turbo boost supported cpus you could overclock an extra 400mhz with the turbo boost frequency.

ohh, sorry i meant the K versions, i just assumed you would assume that 😛
