I bought a new P4 2.4 cpu and a soyo board.
It booted ok for 1 week and then quit so I took it back to the store
and they said bad cpu and gave me another one.
Then I installed it and same thing no boot!
I triple checked everything piece by piece to make sure it wasn`t me.
So back to the store again and they say it`s my mobo and power supply,
so They give me another new p4 2.4 and I buy an Abit mobo and a 400 watt
Ps.
Works for 1 week and then back to square 1!
Somebody please help.
Thanks,

"Not booting" is not really a lot of information...

Does it power up at all? (fans spinning, etc...)

Does it even POST? If so, is it stable even within the BIOS? What brand of MB specifically?

Is 4 pin aux cpu power hooked up on mb?

Have you removed the protective tape from the factory heatsink? Good heatsink connection to thermal compound and cpu core?

What video card are you using?

Indeed some additional detail would be more helpful, however, I have seen similar behaviour when the 'extra' 4-pin power connector is not plugged into the mobo as needed. The same holds true if your video card has an auxiliary power connector and it's not plugged in, it is unpredictable and doesn't boot right.

4 pin connecter? hmm I will try to find that.
I have a ati raedon 128 mb sapphire card
and an Abit board.
It does not post but the fans run and thats it.
Yes I removed the protective tape from the factory heatsink,
may not have much themal lest on it though.
