Hello, I swapped out HDDs. I've been getting this message ever since: A disk read error occurred. Press ctrl+alt+delete to restart. I'm using windows xp professional. Any advice?????

You swapped out HDD - Did you format, partition and install Windows on the new drive ?

Kinda-sorta!!!! after installing windows, you are prompted to press enter to restart computer. On the restart windows completes the install, that's when I get the message???

So you mean you did the swap before the XP installation?

Yes. Had to. The HDD was screwed. Kids picked up a nasty virus. Jammed up entire computer
