Going to buy GPU should i wait for the 490 series?

I'm upgrading from my r9 285 and I'm wondering whether I should get a 1070/80 or wait to see what AMD offers in the high end graphics cards. Thanks in Advance.

If you feel you can stay with the current card, well, i recommend wait. But, i think 490 will be for the 1440p to 4k user. Do you have a 1440p monitor or 4k? Or are you going to upgrade in the future?

I mean he wants a 1070/1080, so he must have at least a 1440p display. I don't think the 490 is gonna be all that good, I mean yeah, it might be similar to the 1080, but soon after, Nvidia might release some new cards too..

I plan to either get it at the same time or in the near future depending on the card i get.
edit: I don't own already as the 285 couldn't handle the high res anyway so getting one before isn't worth the money.

That could be good in some ways but my 285 is dying one of the fans don't work unless its max speed.
