Good AMD GPU for 1080p recording?

OK guys so I play and record game letsplays a lot, and I was wondering which AMD GPU would be best for me to buy for high graphic detail 1080p single screen gaming and recording would be?, I was looking at getting a r9 390x, but I feel like it would be over kill for just 1080p recording? Lol

Also yes, I'm an AMD fanboy because they're often way cheaper than nvidia and offer similar performance in my experience

I'm currently using an AMD HD 7850 2gb GPU so yeah,

thanks for the suggestions guys, i think in order to ensure i get the best possible frame rates in games at that resolution with high/max settings i'll go with the 290 or the 390, and maybe the X versions if they come down a bit in price in the amazon prime sale hahaha, i can but hope, but thanks anyway i appreciate it!
