I need to upgrade my system.
I'm looking at the 1080ti
And will also need to up my existing i5 4460.

So I thought I may as well just go the full lot for the sake of a board.

I'm thinking of going for the 8th gen i5 8400, so would like a board to go with it.
also, I've come across these neat little M.2 drives which will tuck away nicely, so less cables.

Any advice for the build, or things to avoid?

Thanks.

I'm assuming it's not backwards compatible with DDR3 then?

Thanks

Budget?

I'd recommend the following:

MSI B360 Gaming Pro Carbon.
MSI B360 Gaming Artic.
Asus ROG Strix B360-F Gaming.

All these have the cheaper b360 chipset. I assume you know you can't overclock on these boards and I have picked these because they're the cheaper ones and also great quality. If you are planning to upgrade your cpu later and also want to overclock it, you need a z370 chipset motherboard.

You also need to upgrade your RAM to ddr4.

Your welcome, use pcpartpicker to find a good board and m.2 SSD, I'd recommend the Crucial MX500 250gb M.2 for price to performance value.
