Good chose of PC components?

Solution
I dont know that PSU and from a quick read you might be better off picking a better unit since PSU`s is the one part you should not cheap out on.

And I have never owned or used a Xeon CPU before but from what I understand they should do a good job in gaming also even if the Xeons are server and workstation CPUs

Intel E3-1230 Xeon will required mobo with bios version 4104 for it to work. If the mobo has earlier bios version, you will need older CPU to update bios first before Xeon will work. Just want to let you know.

Is there any way to find out what bios version it has on it before I buy.
In a photo of it i found REV 1.00 on it does that help.
Thanks

Your motherboard link of your first post, picture show it is Rev 3.0 (3rd revision of the mobo). However, if you look at bottom right corner, there is a small print label, I can not see all number but I think the last few digital show A04 0501. I think 0501 refers to bios 0501 which is mobo manufacturer ship out. Since it is USED, has previous user update the bios??? There is no way to tell until you boot it up.

Ok Thanks
So if thats right bios 0501 the xeon should work right.
If it does not work how hard is it to flash the bios.

Intel Xeon E3-1230 (3.2G,1333,L3:8MB,4C,D2) requires bios 4104
Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2 (3.3G,L3:8M,4C,HT,69W) requires bios 4104
Intel Xeon E3-1245 v2 (3.4G,L3:8M,4C,HT,77W) requires bios 4401
Intel Celeron G530 requires bios 0501
Intel Celeron G530 requires bios 0208
You could get cheap Celeron G530 or G540 to update bios to latest 4401 then Xeon may work.

If it does not work how hard is it to flash the bios.
You can follow the Asus mobo manual or go to youtube and see how people flash bios.
