Solution
I just built a new system using the GTX 970 and I'm really happy with it. Similar budget to yours, a bit more expensive, but nothing you couldn't save by staying in on a Friday night! MSI Z170A Gaming M7 motherboard (£136, after £20 cashback from MSI, deal running until end Feb I think) and i5-6600k (£189 as bundle deal with the mobo from "dabs"). You could quite easily get a cheaper mobo, I just liked the features on the M7, but i5-6600k very much recommended. You're unlikely to need much more for a good while. The GTX 970 will be outdated long before the rest of the setup is. I presume you're going to be gaming on it.
I have a gtx 970 with i5 4690 (paid $215) and z97m board (paid $115, asrock fatality) and the system handles my needs well. 8gb ram. Not sure what those parts sell for in Europe but at ~1.13 eur/usd it should be in your budget.

Just to compare with Stops... the Z97 can handle more cores (max eight against Z170's four) but Z170 has better, more modern features/connections. Might risk getting off topic going in to too much detail tho! I considered a Z97 chipset, but thought that there's no way games will need that many cores any time soon, so went for the features. I also don't think I could afford one of those beast 8-core processors. Perhaps some more food for thought!

From what i know AM 3 is a ddr 3 motherboard, so skylake doesnt fit well (the 6xxx series) i honestly recomand the 4690k or 4670k with a z97 motherboard. Advantages: cheaper, you can keep your current RAM and very similar performance with skylake. If go with skylake u must by new ddr4 ram.
