good desktop but not overpriced

I want to change my pc so I am really clueless on what I shall get.
The pc will be mostly used for homework and videos although I would like it to have gaming abilities. I am not a gamer but I would prefer to run skyrim and continent of the ninth at max for the short time I am able to play and honestly I don't intend to waste money on a boiling machine (hate overheating).
I know is a advantage to build the pc but believe me I live in Germany nord west and I don't prefer having all the problems with every piece since in the area I live there are only swindlers. I would as well preffer to get this pc directly and not buy online.
I found 2 desktops so my question which one shall I get?

I would like to spend no more than 1400€ on this rig and not buy it online.

In that case, don't buy either. I pray that people don't buy these horrible pre-built comps. You can pick what you want for cheaper and it's super easy to put together.

I'd take the Dell if you'll be replacing the graphics card with a GTX670 or GTX770. Have you considered the GTX760? It's almost GTX670 speed and much cheaper.

well looks like I am back.
I did a lot of research and found the best way is to build the pc myself and within that aspect I would have the freedom of choosing whichever parts I want.
So the question is: Since I don't trust mini pc shops I got to the conclusion the best place to buy is conrad (conrad.de directly at shop they have good prices) but by buying every piece how am I to make certain the piece I buy is working and has no defect?
Researching the internet I found out building a pc is more of a luck thing.
(read in a few posts) - If by chance you may buy a defect piece and realize is not working after you build the whole rig - the shop won't change that piece not caring about the warranty --> they will just come up with a fast excuse and lie like: not our problem, the piece was working 100% so we do not take responsibility for the customer carelessness destroying the piece himself by wrong usage.
So when I decided to build own pc I get to read those things and now I am really confused.
Can someone help me?
Were those lies about being unlucky and buying defect pieces (so that they will make people get scarred and buy overpriced prebuilt pcs) or is it really that risky and should I get a prebuilt pc for the 2-3 years warranty?

The problem with that warranty is if you do have a problem in the future, you have to send your PC back to the manufacturer and then you're without a PC for weeks while they take their time. There is always a risk that hardware you buy will be faulty, but I've never been unable to return anything. 99% of the time there's no problem. Once (many years ago) a bad retailer tried to refuse a return from my brother. Then they accepted but said they'd deduct a £20 "restocking fee". Then eventually they behaved. Generally it's a good experience though with most shops. Why not Amazon?

well as I wrote before where I live those guys are real asses (swindle is all they can do)
anyways someone told me to buy the parts by paying with my credit card so i could just take my money back in case they don't want to change the defect part - which of course they must change (in case I get a defect one). call me paranoia or crazy this is the reality in this area lol.
well never tried Amazon since I never trusted online shopping
is this amazon trustworthy? How much time will take a delivery?
will it be safe and better to buy from amazon than a normal electronics shop?

Amazon is probably the most trustworthy retailer in the world. Not everything sold on Amazon is sold BY Amazon - people can set up their shops on there and sell via Amazon. So when you search a product, some will be sold by Amazon themselves and others from sellers. But it's always clear if it's Amazon themselves or a seller. And if it's a seller, they have reviews/feedback so you can see if they have cheated people. Plus Amazon themselves give guarantees so that sellers can't cheat you. It's very safe.

I did lotsa research and well I found a few prebuilt pcs that would cost me the same as building one myself (+ I can buy them directly at shop and I will become 2 years warranty + they told me this coming week they give 3 free games for gtx 650ti+ computers).
which one do you think would be worth it?

would it be possible to make some modification in this? (after the warranty was gone the crapmonkey piece of scaleo gave up working and whenever I start it, it just loads it's cooler to max, makes an annoying sound but doesn't load at all or show a thing - maybe psu and gpu are the problem)
so I thought myself (since I will buy myself a gaming pc - that i7) I could make some modifications in this one as well (knock it next to the tv lol so everyone will have fast acces to internet - no one here watches tv so it's pretty much annoying cleaning something that is never used) ,
like change cpu to a i5 or even i3 , a gtx 650 (ti if I find a cheap one) and a good psu.
so would it work to modify that nutcase scaleo? (waste at least max 450€ on it)

Glad to help 🙂 As for your old computer, you won't need a gaming graphics card just for web browsing. Modern Intel CPUs have graphics built in that will handle that fine. Keep in mind you'll need new motherboard and RAM for a new processor.
