Hi I would like to know when a MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr with FX 8350, 8GB corsair vengeance on a gigabyte ga 78lmt usb3 mobo on a 1280x720 resolution will begin to have issues hitting 60+fps on highest ultra settings and what types of games will that begin to show at? Many thanks

Your better bet would be to buy a monitor for 100 bucks that can display a native 1080p. The display you're using is not good enough to maximize the potential for your video card. Drop the card down to a 660 or 660 Ti. Then, you have enough money for a cheap 19 inch monitor, or you could use the same display, with the same results, and save money.

This image is where I am currently sat on my bed/sofa/office etc. There really is no option but to keep this display, I have had screen tearing before but its always been fixed by V sync so far as I know

plus I consider that 1280x720 my ace in the hole when it comes to getting more out of a GPU :)

At such a low resolution, you are gonna be CPU bound in a lot of titles well before you are GPU bound in them. That's just the way it works, unfortunately.

So really, it's not the ace in the hole you think it is. Finances permitting, you could always swap that TV out for a computer monitor or a 1080p TV, but I know finances don't always permit. lol.

If anything that means all I need to do eventually is upgrade my CPU to keep up with the requirements of the future. Why would I get a new monitor since that would mean I would need to do the same for the GPU aswell. My current setup with low res is cheaper than getting a new monitor and having to upgrade both CPU and GPU

Look, we're not criticizing your setup. We're simply giving you suggestions that would maximize your gaming experience for the best price. After playing games and watching TV on 1080p for two years, going back down to 720p or 480p just feels vastly inferior. Gaming on a GTX 760 on a 1080p resolution will look amazing, but experience and personal preference will obviously be the limiting factor on this topic.
