Good free video editor

I am looking for free windows video editing software. Windows Movie maker freezes and over all can't do much. So if anyone know of any good free video editing software let me know. Thanks!

Find out the reasons for freezing. Movie Maker is quite good for its price (included in Windows).

Lightworks (https://www.lwks.com/) is about the best free editor you are going to find. However it is limited to 720p output in the free version. It is a professional editor with a steep learning curve. There are tutorials on the site to help you out though.

If you have some money to throw at the problem, Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 is pretty good for the price. You can get it on Steam cheaper than the Sony website. There are two versions of this, the Platinum is the one you want, it has all the advanced features available. The regular non-platinum version is unusually limited for a $50 piece of software.
