Trying to figure out which laptop to get. I'd like one that only has 1 16GB module or 4 ram slots so I can upgrade to 32GB easily. Mostly gonna use it for gaming and heavy vm usage. I also work with a program that clones the entire configuration of whatever server I'm working on over to a vm so I can do security audits during active hours, but it sometimes uses up to 24GB of memory. So for me the two major things that I need for my work are a good cpu and a lot of memory. I already have a macbook pro, and a lenovo workstation laptop that has about 64gigs. But I'm looking to do some side work on my own so I want my own laptop that I can travel with and game on while also being able to handle my work.
The money part doesn't really matter that much to me. But I think I can get what I want for $1500. I'd spend even $3000 if I needed to buy I already own a really good desktop so I don't see the need.
