Hi all. I'm looking for a low profile CPU cooler. It needs to be able to dissipate 100-125W and can't be over 40mm high. I also don't want to spend over $25 for it. Ther are lots of surplus Intel stock coolers meant for high end Core2Quads that were 95W and also for Pentium 4 and Pentium D over 100W tdp. Noise isn't an issue here, but I'd rather it not be obnoxiously loud.

Thanks

https://www.arctic.ac/us_en/freezer-11-lp.html (52.5mm and TDP of 95W)
https://www.thermaltake.com/products-model_Specification.aspx?id=C_00001602 (TDP not listed. It should work I think.)

Also why is the Core2Quad running so high? What case are you using? Watercooling?

I actually looked at both of those and they were two choices but were on the expensive side around $30. I forgot to mention that size is an issue because this is going into a large flashlight body that was one of those big ones with H3 type car headlight in it.

I'm coverting it to run a 130W COB LED that needs good cooling comparable to a Pentium 4 or D Extreme, i7-9x0, Core2Quad or Extreme CPU. The majority of the Core2Quad were 95W tdp. I could use a 95W cooler and run the fan fast if needed. There are Intel stock coolers I can get for around $10 designed around those CPUs that fit inside, but the height is an issue even though I an replacing the stock fan.

What case will you be using?
40mm is very small and I suspect you may have difficulty getting sufficient airflow to any cooler.
This might be one situation where I might recommend a liquid cooler.

Wow thanks for that comparison chart. It's going into a large spotlight flashlight body to cool the led conversion I'm doing. The led runs around 130W flat out. Water cooling would be freaking awesome if I could get a setup to fit, but an air cooler is the most feasible option. I could get a 60mm air cooler in, but that's not leaving much room for the battery and driver electronics.
