Not 100% on which i5 I believe the 1150 socket and a 10k because I had it laying around from when I upgraded to a ssd

Definitely use the i5, no reason to use the FX in this day and age.

No don't buy that board - the 970s have voltage issues with some FX-83XX chips. You're better off using the i5 and buying a used Z97 motherboard off eBay.
