Hello! I have been thinking of a new motherboard for my new pc. The problem is, i cant seem to find good mATX Z77 or Z75 boards nowadays.. I would like to have possibility to overclock my i5 2500k. I would prob already upgrade to a i7 4th gen or i5 4th gen, but i dont have the money yet.. But my current system is kinda dull right now.. I'm looking for a mATX board, because i only need one Pcie 3.0 slot. 2 RAM slots is fine 4 Slots is better. Thanks in advance :)!

Current Setup:
Mb: Asrock H61M-U3S3
Cpu: i5 2500k
GPU: Club 3D Radeon HD 6670 (800mhz stock @ 860, memory @ 776)

New parts:
Mb: unkown
Psu: Corsair 750w
GPU: GTX 750/R9 290(Not sure yet..)

You'll be lucky to find any z77 or 75 mobos and if you do you'll have to pay an arm and a leg for them. (Asus Sabertooth $240 at Newegg when in stock).

I think you're being forced to go down the upgrade path.

eg i5 4690k ($240) plus ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 ($123) plus ram

Z77 is fading fast ....since the 2500k (Sandy Bridge) we've seen Ivy Bridge, Haswell and Devil's Canyon. Not that it isn't still viable, it's just that MoBo vendors aren't targeting stuff from 3 generations back.

Searching newegg I came up with 9 boards all outta stock .... pcpartpicker came up dry.

Yeah i was looking all the motherboards were out of stock.. I just wanted to save the i5, because its still a damn good cpu.. But i guess i'll build a another computer with the i5 and buy new mobo and cpu.. Any good cpu + mobo fairly cheap?

^ I wouldn't say equivalent but your post would require me to educate the OP that he'd have to move to a new platform but that would only be possible if I didn't read this bit from the OP,

SO back on topic, unfortunately as Jack has stated you are out of luck in buying a brand new Z77 mobo for your i5 but that doesn't mean your second hand options aren't available. In fact if you head down to ebay or craiglist you'll find a good number of mobo's worthy of overclocking albeit they could be posted on ebay due to being faulty :??:

Nevertheless,

Do let me know if the link doesn't work. Oh, speaking of working links, we don't know where you live - automatically default location in our head is you hail from USA :)

BTW Welcome to Tom'sHardware!

* I stand corrected, there are new mobo's available at ebay.
