[SOLVED] Good ping on speedtest, but in-game is very bad

Recently over the past few months my ping has been horrible in game and my PC isn't the only one affected, The ping on a speed test says 40 but in game i'm getting anywhere from 150-200 i recently got new internet and it was bad before it just after getting new internet for the first few days my ping was normal (40-60) and the it went up to around 80-100 and now it is back up to 200, any help? I also tried pinging google and got results anywhere from 50-90

The ping is going to be different based on where the server you are running the ping is located. Try to change the speedtest location to other cities and you will see the ping changes.

You can run tracert to some of the IP addresses to see where the delay is. You can't really do anything about delays far into the path.

The path your data takes is dependent on your ISP and how they connect to all the other ISP. The only what to change this is to get a different ISP which is not a option for most people.
