I am new to PC gaming. My PC has an AMD A10 7850K Kaveri, the graphics card is a Nividia GF GTX 750 ACX. It appears my motherboard can use only the CPU noted (FM2/FM2+). I was willing to spend up to $500 on a new graphics card. However, due to the comments regarding the CPU it appears I would be wasting my time (bottle necking, whatever else.)

My PC is only used for games and nothing else except for browsing on the internet. If this setup can be salvaged at all let me know. If not, can anyone recommend a decent/fair priced mother board or just tell me what I should do.

Any help is appreciated

Solution
Get These And Say Bye-Bye To Bottlenecking

Intel Core i5 i5-4690K CPU - $180.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-i5-4690K-Processor-Graphics-LGA-1150/dp/B00KPRWB9G

MSI B85-G43 ATX Motherboard - $79.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-B85-G43-Gaming-LGA1150-Motherboard/dp/B00EJ3RJGC

Around $260 On Above Items And You've A $500 Budget So You Can Get This Too

EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperClocked 2GB GDDR5- $209.99
http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-2966-KR/dp/B00SC6HAS4/ref=sr_1_23?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1425620264&sr=1-23&keywords=r9+290x

And If You Want To Spend Complete $500 On GPU,Then You Can Get A R9 290x,GTX 980 They Are Easily Available On Amazon,And They Will Not Be Bottlenecked By The CPU I Gave

Would I be able to max out the graphics on a game like Rome 2 Total War?

Yes,You Can Max Out On A 1080p Monitor With 960 Too,But I'll Recommend Getting A 970 If You Get 970 You Can Max Out Every Game At 1080p Like CODAW,FC4,AC U

thanks for your help, since i am new to PC's I got one more question. My current power supply is a corsair cx500m. I am thinking this will have to be upgraded?

Get A 600w Decent PSU With 80+Rating To Run 970,980 But If You Want To Run 960,Your Current PSU Is Also OK
