Good quad cpu

By the way, the whole I3 trading blows with the 9XX phenoms is because most games currently use two cores. When your doing things like World Machine, 3D rendering or generating LOD for games, the quad core trashes the I3.

I recommend a 965 BE. Doubled my frame-rates with a 6670 DDR3 after moving up from a C2D, and everything is super fast.
I'd recommend the quad core 965 over the HT'd i3 2100.

I personally like the Phenom II X4 black edition its the processor that ive have for about a year now and ive had no problems.
{Except when I tried to overclock it at 4.0Ghz and my comp occasionally locked up.} But besides that i think its a great budget gaming CPU but i believe they discontinued it so i would go with the 965BE a little better and newegg usually has sales on them for about 90$. But if you don't live in the US idk how much their going for but it shouldnt be more 120$...I think?.

My Build in case you were wondering

:pfff: You seem to be hell bent on getting the Bulldozer. In all the three or four threads you created in the last day and a half you have found a way to work Bulldozer into the thread seemingly trying to convince us that the Bulldozer isn't that bad. I have to wonder if you really are looking for a new CPU or if you already have one and are trying to justify your buy by hoping someone will tell you it's a great CPU. It's not that great and the benchmarks prove it especially in gaming. If you want a good gaming processor go with the I5, I3, or 965BE. If you want to get a Bulldozer get it but don't complain when you get lousy performance and it bottlenecks your high-end video card.

Get the 965 be, its old, but not really i guess, its still a very powerful cpu, has 4 native cores, and can be overed easily cause its a BE.
965be, with a 970 chipset motherboard and 7770 or 6850, im not sure on prices for u but may be a little over.

I agree with Lazy. I would go with the I5 but if you really can't afford it my next choice would definitly be a 965BE.

okay thank guys, im gonna try and get ever the i5 of or 965 be.
-rds1220, it just amazed me how many good reviews it had on saying its really fast and got it up to 4.6ghz. its 5 start with good reviews ect
" Pros: I cannot believe I hit 5.0 GHz on a $120 CPU. This CPU gave me extra wiggle room to invest in a radeon 7770 graphics card. This chip could easily be better than the i5 2500k and even the 3570k.

Cons: Runs hot. At 4.2 GHz the chip runs at 35 C with a corsair h40 water cooler. I will have to upgrade to a H100 soon, but won't care much with the money I saved buying this instead of an Intel.

Other Thoughts: Im not an AMD fanboy and have been with intel my whole life until recently. AMD is really showing their colors and will soon be ahead of the competition. I have recommended AMD to my friends, customers, and anyone reading this review."

and

"
Pros: Great speed for price. Highly recommended for those building a budget system that has been a few generations behind. I'm a big gamer, not much for productivity so this is a nice processor as far as gaming is concerned.

In all honestly, I don't see a BIG difference between this is the processor is replaced with was the Phenom II X6 BE 1100T. The biggest reason why I upgraded was because it was too cheap to pass up. I have another PC that I can put the 1100T in, so it won't go to waste."

so yeh, good reviews. but im probly can go with all your comments and get i5 2500k
cuz i want to over clock it. how much will a cheap i5 2500k budget system be? in dollars ??

The problem here is that 5GHz is not the same between processors. 5GHz on an Intel is WAY faster than 5GHz on an AMD. It has to do with the architecture, which is why Ivy Bridge is faster than Sandy per GHz.

Aye. I would be surprised if even then, at 5GHz, an AMD could match an Intel at stock. Only benchmarks hold the truth! 😛

I would take those so called reviews with a grain of salt at best. I wouldn't put much into them. You really want to to know how good or bad a CPU is look at benchmarks from reputable websites like Toms Hardware, Anandtech, and a few others. Clearly from the benchmarks you can see the Bulldozer is a poor performer in most games.
